Our Company
History
1961
Established in 1961, Iris Ceramica Group becomes the leader in the design, production, and sales of ceramic surfaces. The group manufactures a wide range of porcelain stoneware, special floors and wall coverings that meet the aesthetic and functional requirements of consumers, architects, interior designers, and builders.
1970
Visionary founder, Romano Minozzi, coined the term “Economy = Ecology,” a powerful concept encapsulating his vision of an economy that serves both humanity and the environment we inhabit.
2000
Well-known brands, Ariostea, FMG, Porcelaingres, Iris Ceramica and SapienStone, expand into the U.S. market under Transceramic (on the East coast) and Eurowest (on the West coast), providing Americans with traditional, high-end Italian ceramics.
2004
Transceramica’s Chicago showroom opens, offering a one-stop-shop for luxury porcelain and ceramic solutions.
2018
Large format porcelain slabs in size 120” x 60” become available. One of the firsts in the industry to produce and sell porcelain gauged panels.
2020
The San Francisco Eurowest showroom opens, providing the Pacific West with high-end solutions and technology firsthand.
2022
A revolution in the surfacing industry, 4D ceramics is introduced, striking the perfect balance between aesthetics, design, and technical performance. The full-body technology has been perfected, achieving natural veining, shades of color, and geometric designs or patterns, throughout the material, blurring the boundary between the surface and its edge.
2023
Iris Ceramica Group and Edison Next partner to develop H2 Factory™, the first Green Hydrogen powered ceramic slab factory based in Castellarano, Italy. This innovation marks the first project for the decarbonization of the ceramic industry and will significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions, saving around 900 tonnes of CO2 per year, and eventually, achieving carbon neutrality by 2030.
2024
In a strategic and visionary decision, the U.S. divisions responsible for delivering exceptional products under the Iris Ceramica Group umbrella, namely Transceramica (Chicago & New York) and Eurowest (San Francisco & Anaheim), form a unified nationwide entity: ICG ITALIA.
